ABOUT GIORGIO:
Giorgio Russo is a self-taught painter, born in Rome in 1971.
He has always had a passion for the expressive impact of painting; at the age of 16th, it was natural for him to start expressing concepts and experiences through a gesture based, textural and semiotic painting, where simple communication was considered inadequate for. Until 2022, he lived in Italy and abroad, dedicating to painting all time saved from the daily activities as an engineer. He was always driven by the need to crystallize the small and intimate “Relative Truths” scratched by a continuous research and poetic-philosophical tension about “Human Being” and “Time”. Great masters such as Kandinsky, Miró, Klee, De Chirico, Burri, Fontana, Pollock, Rothko, Afro and a lot of Japanese aesthetics have been an important source of inspiration. For 36 years, Giorgio preserved his Art from any constraints which could have come from market rules, from consensus, from survival by carving out an absolute intimate space of pure expressive freedom. Now Giorgio considered the right time for a paradigm shift and to share that space with people like him, who are searching for meaning; his main exhibitions were in Rome, Milan and Miami and online is on Artsy and 1st DBs.
