Karin’s Art Statement:
I have worked for many years as a designer of furniture and interiors and always with a strong emphasis on timeless pieces and incorporating works of art. My own artwork evokes memories of my worldwide travel and walks, enhanced by the photographs I have taken. I am inspired by the landscape, the mood and the light, the mysterious places that might lie around the corner, the surprising discovery I might make in a few more steps. My paintings are oil or mixed media and usually take many days and even weeks to complete, as I add layers and marks, accentuating or disguising features of the landscape, hoping to bring out the atmosphere and even the exhilaration of the moment.
