Mamta’s Art Statement:
The process of creating art brings about a stillness in me. In moments of boundless joy and great pain I am able to arrive at a quiet within myself. That quiet is a God moment. And what happens on the canvas is that deep silence, that I have experienced. Through abstractions and free movement, I am able to become still in the most volatile movements that life offers. Art is my sacred sanctum where the madness of the external situation can never penetrate. Here I am able to explore and transform my deepest wounds into profound realizations. Art has allowed me to be fully present.
I am a self-taught artist inspired by the subtle dimensions of life. As a poet and storyteller, I am always steeped in the natural flow of creativity. Abstract art for me is the space that even poetry cannot reach. I enjoy observing the geometry that forms around me and understand deeply how it flows. I love working with Acrylic, water colors, oil and structure mediums. I am a cross between several spiritual traditions and it reflects in my work.
