“This small painting pays homage to the myth of the woman linked to the moon. It evokes the mystery that envelops desires, and the need for spirituality. The characters in my paintings are always naked and bald, beyond any historical reference. Defying the law of gravity and time, they invite us to look beyond the surface of things, the thread that raises the visible to the invisible, the body to the mind, the real to the dream. My artistic style belongs to surrealism. It has benefited from the influence of Dali and Modigliani, but also that of the symbolist Caspar David Friedrich and ancient Khmer and Egyptian art. I hope with this painting, to welcome into the house a poetic and inspiring world.”
